Rich Pezzillo, Jr., is from Rhode Island and has been NEHA’s Executive Director since 2016. Rich has hemophilia A and has been active with the bleeding disorders community for nearly two decades. Rich is the former co-chair of the National Hemophilia Foundation’s (NHF) Youth Leadership Institute.
Prior to joining NEHA in 2016, Rich worked in Washington, D.C., as Press Secretary for Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), and then as the Communications and Marketing Director for the Hemophilia Federation of America (HFA).
Rich is the recipient of the Ryan White Meritorious Service Award, NHF Advocate of the Year Award, and a “40 Under Forty” winner for the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy and Providence Business News.
Rich graduated college with a science background and continues to have a deep passion and interest in meteorology. He enjoys gardening and outdoor adventures with his husband, Michael. They currently reside in Rhode Island.
